On Friday 5th April 2002, the death was
announced of Ken Taylor, the former manager of Nottinghamshire
County Cricket Club.
Ken, who was 85, was also a major name in
our own clubs history.
He was First XI Captain after the war and
even played for the Ones at the ripe old age of 50!
Ken then became manager of the Ones and introduced a fitness
regime that led to the club having its most successful period.
Ken's leadership during the 1970s inspired
the club to:
5 League Championships, including successive MAA Championships
from 1972/73 - 1975/76.
4 MAA Senior Cup trophies.
3 Intermediate Cup trophies.
3 Minor Cup trophies.
Kens impact on the success of the
club cannot be understated and we will make sure his important
work is not forgotten in the future.
