Although the season has ended without any silverware for
the mighty green and white army to enjoy, this has without
doubt been the most successful season the CLUB has enjoyed
for the last 20 years.
With both the Ones and Twos just being edged out of runners
up spot in their leagues and the Threes storming through
in the last two months to finish fourth, this has been a
highly successful year and the clubs very impressive
playing record proves this.

First Team
Looking back across the whole season, there is no doubt
that if the first team had begun the year with some easier
fixtures they may well have amassed even more points than
they did. A tough start playing Champions Caribbean Cavaliers
twice, O.E.s and Trent University in the first two months
of the season saw them drop vital early points. The first
league win didnt arrive until their sixth match and
although they played some good football after Christmas
and went on a long unbeaten winning run, they were always
playing catch up after such a poor start.
A MAA Cup run was once again a highlight of the Ones season.
They were ultimately denied this season by a cruel piece
of luck at the semi final stage by rivals Trent University
who eventually put Notts out on Penalties.
Second Team
In some ways the Twos had a similar season. They too began
slowly and amassed only 7 out of the first 18 points before
embarking on a record breaking 13 straight league victories
that bridged Christmas and the New Year. This fantastic
run took them to the top of the table but it was these lost
early points and their inability to take points from the
top two (and now promoted sides) Pakistan Centre and Bracken
Park that cost them any chance of a top two finish.
Third Team
The Threes too began the season slowly and took their time
getting into their stride. Despite some good wins such as
the 11-1 crushing of EMTEC, the team tended to be inconsistent,
winning one week, then losing the next.
The Threes season was kick started by an excellent MAA
Cup run which saw them reach the semi finals. Although they
were disappointed to lose to eventual winners ASC Dayncourt,
this run gave the team confidence in themselves and they
embarked on an excellent run of league form which took them
from mid-table to eventually finish in 4th place, a position
which seemed way beyond them before Christmas.
Next Season
So the plans now begin for a new campaign in September.
Notts mustnt be complacent and should look to build
on the successes they have had this season. Overall playing
strength has been weakened due to injuries and we know that
inevitably some players will move on, so new blood at all
levels across the club will be needed come kick off time.
Any players who have friends who want to become involved
in a club going places then introduce them during Summer
Training at Bluecoat.
Many thanks to everyone who has worked so hard this year
in making this such a successful and enjoyable season!!
