Nine Points Out Of Nine - Colin's
Joy
Well isn't it great lads that we all turn up on time
and before the opposition have even arrived. One of Colin's
great saying before the game.
The game plan was to kick and rush and to stop Magdala's
Angel Gabriel and to show them a thing or two. So lads lets
go out there and stuff 'em. another one of Colin's
great saying before the start of a game.
The showdown kicked off and Paul Atkinson started off lively
in midfield and there were a few rash challenges from Marcus.But,
Notts had start off superbly and with great wing play down
the line by Paul Rudd and Marcus what resulted in Notts
getting a corner.
Wrighty took the corner and aim for the far post and big
Daz Spencer came screaming in at the back saying 'Speno's
Ball'. Marcus ducked and Daz headed the ball into the
far top corner and a desperate header from a defender on
the line only to see a screaming Daz Spencer Cheering 'Come
on lads, come on' 1-nil Notts.
Barely ten minutes had gone since Daz had scored and Wrighty
put a delightful through ball to Marcus, who shrugged the
young defender off on the edge of the box. Still having
a bit to do Marcus proceeded into the box and shot low and
hard into the far corner of the net GOAL NOTTS!!!
2-nil Notts.
The second half started and Notts came out with the intention
to destroy Magdala and chances went begging and Magdala
made a few Subs including the keeper who pulled his hamstring
and a defender that Willo was tussling with.
Wrighty crossed it into the box and Paul Atkinson chested
it down and volleyed home passed Angel Gabriel who went
in goal for the injured keeper 3-nil Notts.
Colin started to make changes in his midfield by bringing
Paul Rudd off and putting Chris Buckland on and within about
ten minutes Notts had scored again with another great cross
from Wrighty who ducked because Martin shouted only to see
the keeper palm it straight too Marcus who side-foot volleyed
it into the back of the net 4-nil Notts.
Colin makes another change by bringing Dicko on and taking
Chris Westerby off.
Notts started showboating with Daz back heeling it several
times to players and Willo passing it back to the keeper
from within Magdala's Half and then Paul Atkinson took
charge and passed a superb through ball to Martin who ran
onto it like a shot.
He carried the ball about 15 yards and did a delightful
lob that left the keeper stranded in his own box after running
out 5-nil Notts game over, ref blew the fine whistle.
A great victory for Notts and Colin after one of Magdala's
top men said we were a kick and rush team, well we showed
them a thing or two.
