New Year New Start (Great!)
Well, we arrived at the Gresham Park and Colin had a quick
chat about what happen at Ashland and how to put things
right.
The game kick off and for ten minutes Notts was all over
Bassingfield and they just couldn't handle us. Five minutes
later Marcus opened his New Year account, running onto the
loose ball and going around the keeper and putting the ball
into the empty net one nil Notts. Bassingfield kicked off
and Notts was straight on the attack again with some good
skill from Shawie, Marcus and Rudd. Shawie had a shot saved
and soon after Bassingfield got a goal back. The ball came
off the back of Adey's head straight into the path of the
Bassingfield player who lobed Dave one all. Soon after kicking
off Notts were back in the lead with a burst of pace from
Marcus to slot the ball across the keeper into the bottom
corner two one Notts. Notts were well on their game and
soon after Marcus nearly got his hat trick but for a great
save from the Bassingfield keeper, ref blew his whistle
for half time.
Colin was happy with the team's performance in the first
half but the second half was poor. Within ten minutes of
the second half the score was all level. Bassingfield took
a corner a there attacker jumped highest and put it in the
back of the net unchallenged two all. Mitch had to come
off with a groin strain so Speno came on and Tony Dicko
for Willo. From there on it got worst with Bassingfield
scoring another three and Tony get one for Notts. Marcus
missed his second penalty of the season blazing it well
over the bar, the scored ended 5-3 to Bassingfield.
