Three Saturdays, three cup games, three different
competitions. Notts were drawn against supposedly better
opponents for the second time running in the Nottinghamshire
Intermediate Cup and for the second time triumphed in spectacular
fashion by a comfortable margin.
The victory was marred by a nasty injury sustained
by second team striker Paul Smith who had been called up
for his first appearance of the season only to be clattered
by the opposing goalkeeper when chasing a through ball after
only a few minutes. Paul was ambulanced to hospital (after
a long wait) and was diagnosed with cracked ribs and a bruised
spleen. Hopefully, his injuries wont keep him out
for long.
Fortunately, Notts had regular striker Marcus
Hall on the bench and he came on to score one of the three
goals. Paul Rudd and Dean Wilson were the other goalscorers
in this impressive win.
