Back to league action this week and a comfortable
victory is sewn up in the first period as Notts find the
net four times without reply.Steelers were a shadow of the
side that had battled so hard in the MAA Cup three weeks
ago and collapsed with a whimper against a confident Notts
team.
Unusually the goalscorers werent the players
you would expect. Skipper Darren Spencer weighed in with
two identical headers from corners, the second being netted
despite one of the home defenders warning his team mates
of what was going to happen! Even more unusually, midfielder
Andy Dickinson got on the scoresheet with a header from
a Culligan cross to register his first goal for many a moon.
The final goal was an excellent strike from distance by
Jay Culligan.
The second half saw Notts take their foot off
the pedal and the game situation allowed subs Buxton, Allen
and (King Scab) Johnson to be introduced.
