It was a cold day at Cavaliers ground and there
was a lot of pressure on this game whoever won went top
of the league. The usually players that were late was late
and Colin was trying to set the mood and get us already
for the match ahead.
Notts kicked off and the game started it was a scrappy
ten minutes and Notts was starting to settle. With a half
chance for both Marcus and Willo but none taken. Dicko was
up to his rash challenges, whilst Chris Westerby was mashing
up his fingers and had to be taken to hospital so then John
Smalley came on. Then the game started to open up and Notts
had to soak up all the pressure with clearances from Speno
and Shaw because the midfield couldn't get back to help
the defence. Notts was luck to go in at half time 0-0.
The second half was pretty much the same apart from Cavaliers
got a man send off for swearing at Geordie. Then for some
stranger reason Cavaliers started to play and left Notts
for dead so Colin made a change and took Smalley off for
Stubbings and it was the first time I have seen Colin bring
a player on and take him off so Smalley got fined. Shortly
after that Cavaliers scored thru Chris Joseph who spun Adey
Wilson and tap it home 1 - 0 Cav's. So then Colin made another
chance and took off Jay Culligan and put Tony Dicko newly
promoted to the first team. He made an impact and ten minutes
from the end a long punt from Dave Edwards. With a slight
flick from Andy Dicko and a big mistake from the Cav's keeper
left Willo with the ball at his feet and a empty net only
one outcome goal.
One all Notts and that's how it ended lucky for Notts.
