Nottinghamshire FC made short work of opponents Bilborough Town on Saturday, racking up five first half goals and ending up with their biggest win of the season.
It took Notts the best part of 20 minutes to get their noses in front, but once Marcus Denton had opened the scoring with his first goal of the campaign, the floodgates opened and Notts began to find time and space and created chance after chance. Denton, Greensmith, Rose and O'Neill (great strike) added further goals before the break.
The second period saw Notts step off the gas somewhat and it wasn't until the last quarter that they clicked into overdrive to score three more times.
The visitors claimed a goal courtesy of a defensive lapse (Notts have only kept one clean sheet all season), but Rose and Greensmith registered again before a late penalty was generously given to popular defender Jamaine Thomas, who had never previously scored for Notts.
His penalty was blocked by the keeper, but Jam was able to pounce to blast home the rebound. |
