A visit to “the Poppies” is always a nice treat. Good facilities and a decent pitch welcome all away teams. The team were struggling with confidence despite last weeks 4-4 with Premium. The elusive next win remained elusive. Burton Joyce played in green so Notts had to wear the blue kit. A much heavier kit but entirely welcome as the cold wind blew across the pitch!

The game was fairy evenly matched no side threatening significantly. Notts had arguably the best of the build up play and a number of clever balls through the channels for winger Grovesy to run onto should have yielded better returns. Burrton took the advantage when a nothing through ball was met by a forward. He was kept onside as the defence came out because of a lack of communication, and slotted home.

The second half was better for Notts and the equaliser came from Andy Johnson, who after his 2 lat week seemed to be on good scoring form! He looped the ball over the Burton Keeper and it bumbled in. Unfortunately Johnson got clattered in a tackle but shook it off to play on.

Burton’s winner came 25 minutes into the second half. A ball down the left wing lopped over Dyce’s head. It was dealt with by neither Dyce nor Errington and the slowest, least talented player on the pitch scored. Gutting but Notts failed to apply themselves well enough in this game.
