Burton Joyce blow hot and cold and it was anyone’s guess which one would turn up. They tend to be a good footballing side that do the simple things well. The pitch was covered in leaves as is normal for this time of year! The team spent around 30 mins clearing the lines making the pitch playable.
The game started evenly, both sets of players passing well but there were no clear cut chances. On 25 minutes Notts were awarded a corner swung in by Stasic. The ball bobbled around and nobody really got hold of it, until Beri span himself around and scored with an audacious overheads kick!
1-0 Notts.
The goals seemed to spur Notts on and they looked to press for the second. Definately getting the upper hand over the visitors. Unfortunately Notts eased up of the gas and conceded. The goal was well taken, a through ball from just inside the Burton half was ran onto by their pacey forward who managed to squeeze it past Pownall in goal.
The game finished 1-1, Notts disappointing in patches but after losing 5 games on the bounce a point was very welcome.
