Lime Kiln have always been strong and this team was no exception. Notts expected a physical game and that is what happened. Midfield battled well and reduced Lime Kiln to a few opportunities. The back line dealt well with the balls over the top and any threat was soon nullified. Unfortunately Lime Kiln’s goals came from Notts mistakes. Defensive marking errors meant that Lime Kiln were twice two-on-one and put them ahead twice. Each time Notts got back into the game, through hard work and good finishes.
Lack of concentration cost Notts as Lime Kiln increased their lead in the second half. The game went away from Notts and heads dropped knowing that we had to make up yet another deficit. Some games just don’t go your way and this was one of them for Notts. It sounds like a poor performance but genuinely wasn’t. Notts just need to play badly and win a game for once! Rather than play well and lose!
