Nottinghamshire FC made it six points out of six in their second NSL league encounter on a very warm and sunny evening in Walesby.
On a very wide, but beautiful surface, Notts began the game positively and should have gone ahead in the first minute when striker Mark Greensmith put winger Lewis Atkinson through but his shot was turned aside by the home keeper.
Notts kept up the pressure in the opening 15 minutes with both Greensmith and Rose looking a dangerous combination in attack and Johnson and Wood in midfield won the majority of the possession.
Despite their domination and some near strikes, Notts couldn't break through and against the run of play almost went behind when first keeper Harvey fumbled and then skipper Mitchell misheaded. These were brief moments of alarm though in a half that belonged thoroughly to the visiting side.
After the break Stasic was replaced by Groves and within five minutes he had marked his introduction to the game with a goal. A right wing cross by Greensmith was allowed to bounce and he volleyed home spectacularly over the keeper's head from 12 yards.
Lifted by the goal Notts pressed for a second but despite half a dozen close efforts and some good work by the home keeper, the second didn't come for another 15 minutes. Greensmith was again the provider as he fed his strike partner and Rosey slotted home into the corner.
The visitors then seemed to relax and take their foot off the pedal a little and allowed Sandhurst back into the game as the home team forced home a deep corner and began to cause Notts some problems defensively.
Shortly afterwards keeper Harvey was extremely alert and made a superb left handed block to prevent what seemed to be a certain equalizer.
Notts gathered themselves once more for the last ten minutes and saw the game out for a deserved win.
