PROMISING START FOR ALL TEAMS

The new season is only four weeks old, but all Notts teams can be pleased with the starts they have made as they all have winning records.

The Ones have only played three times, beating a poor Bottesford outfit, losing disappointingly to Beacon in an unusually poor defensive display, before bouncing back with an excellent 3-1 win at Stanton Ilkeston.

The Ones are still shaping their new side and looking to strengthen the team in some areas, but the early signs are quite positive.

The Reserves, bolstered by the addition of some experienced ex 1st XI players, have made an excellent start winning 4 of their first 5 league games. Their only reverse coming against league leaders Heanor Colliers, who appear to be the team to beat. The Twos are obviously going to be a stronger defensive side this season. Keeper Sheridan is unbeaten in 270+ minutes of football!

Chris Westerby’s third XI have had an entertaining start, their side being involved in some high scoring games so far, with 29 goals being scored in their first five games!! The sort of entertainment that will bring the crowds flooding back!

The 4ths have made a very good start too, winning three of their first four league games. There are a string of new teams in their division, so it is hard to predict how well they will do but they have a strong squad and playing strength shouldn’t be an issue again this season. Squad rotation may be here again!
